OUR CHARITY: MIND

Blake Mill supports mental health in partnership with Mind

Mind is the leading mental health charity in England and Wales. They provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

One in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem every year. Despite the scale of the problem, men, in particular, can find it difficult to open up about their problems and seek help. Blake Mill has partnered with Mind in order to help make a difference.

As CEO Ken Price said: “All of us here at Blake Mill have connection to mental health issues either personally or through family or friends. We understand the importance of the excellent work that Mind is doing in this area and are proud to support them.”.

Blake Mill is supporting Mind in the following ways:

Donations of end of line product to Mind charity shops

End of line stock for many fashion brands often ends up in landfill or being burned. Blake Mill donates end of line stock to the Mind network of over 160 charity shops. Sale of this unsold inventory generates funds for Mind to utilise in its important work helping people. Having a selection of premium garments attracts more customers into the shops. Finally it means that each of these Blake Mill garments gets a home with someone who may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy one. Approximately £35,000 (at RRP) of end of line stock has been donated to date.

Blake Mill “Revive

Customers are invited to return “pre-worn” Blake Mill shirts in exchange for a £25 credit toward their next order of £100 or more. Shirts that meet the required quality standards are donated to Mind to be sold in their charity shop network.

Refer a Friend and Donate to Mind

Blake Mill’s refer a friend programme is a bit unusual. When a referred friend purchases a shirt, they receive a £15 reduction in the cost of their order AND Blake Mill donates £5 to Mind through the Work for Good network. This provides our customers with an opportunity to stand for something greater.

Events

Blake Mill runs pop-up shops and other events, some of which center around the partnership with Mind. These events help create awareness for mental health and the work that Mind does to support it. Where product is sold at these events, a portion of sales is donated to Mind via the Work for Good network.

“We’re so grateful to Blake Mill and their customers for their support. Every donation that Mind receives allows us to be there for those who need us most through our vital services such as Mind’s Infoline, legal line, support line and our online peer support community Side by Side”.
