The neuroscience pioneer Santiago Ramon y Cajal set about unravelling the mysteries of the human brain back in the 19th century. He painstakingly detailed electrical activity in the brain with intricate line drawings. Drawings which we then copied onto a shirt (Lawyers note: took inspiration from but not to the point of infringing intellectual property rights).
