Cut from 100% premium organic cotton sateen with a tailored fit that flatters a wide range of body shapes. Finished with a classic cutaway collar and mitred cuffs - a quiet nod to your good taste. The slight sheen isn’t showing off; it’s just naturally confident. This shirt features our 'Tyrian Morphology' print.
Design Story
Purple has always been the colour of people who didn't follow rules. For centuries, it was too expensive, too rare, too loaded with meaning for anyone but royalty to touch. Tyrian purple, extracted from sea snails off the Phoenician coast, was worth more than gold. Then, in 1856, an eighteen-year-old chemist named William Perkin accidentally discovered how to make it synthetically, and overnight, the colour that had belonged to emperors belonged to everyone. The significance never quite left, though.
This print wears that history and that science simultaneously. Violets and amethysts layered over ghost roses and teal, botanical notation and fine line illustration threaded through the background. The precise language of how flowers actually function, sitting quietly beneath the blooms themselves. Art and discovery in the same piece, in the colour that has always carried more weight than it lets on.
